Our Pastor

Pastor Sherwood A. Walker is the eldest son of Hayward and Lena Walker. He grew up in Fort Washington, MD, and received his formal education in Prince George’s County Public schools. Upon graduation from high school, he attended Prince George’s Community College for two years. In 1990, he enrolled at Bowie State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1993.

Pastor Walker grew up in Trinidad Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, choir member and Junior Deacon. He also served as a member of the education committee and the constitution committee. He accepted his call to the ministry in 1998 and enrolled in Howard University School of Divinity. He preached his trial sermon and was licensed to preach in July of 2000. In 2001, Rev. Walker chose to do his field education under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Claude R. Swanson. In 2002, he became Assistant to the Pastor. Rev. Walker graduated from Howard University in May 2004 with a Master of Divinity Degree and was ordained in January of 2007. In June of 2008, he was elected Pastor of Craig Memorial Community Church.

Pastor Walker is the proud father of Andrew Walker.
