Church Covenant

Having come together for the purpose of worshiping God. And having accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we now enter into a covenant with one another, as one body of Christ.

We believe that we are all one in the body of Christ, and we further believe that we have been give gifts, one to another, according to the desires of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we are to use our gifts to the glory of God and for the betterment of mankind. We will refrain from being jealous of the gifts of others but will strive to maximize the use of the gifts God has given to each one of us. We will refrain from gossiping about one another and strive to discourage the discussion of others in a negative manner.

We engage, therefore, but the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; and to promote its prosperity and spirituality, to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrines. We further strive to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expense of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spreading of the gospel through all nations. We also engage in maintaining private and family devotions, to religiously education our children and to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances.

We will continue to walk upright in the world always striving to emulate the deeds of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. We promise to be just in all our dealings, faithful in our engagements and exemplary in our deportment. We further agree to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember one another in prayer, to aid one another in sickness and distress. Finally, we will strive to live our life in such a way that others may see Christ in us.
