Rev. Gloria Canady

Associate Minister/Minister of Visitation

Reverend Gloria E. Canady was born in Blackstone, Virginia. At the age of five, I moved to Arlington Virginia, with my father, mother and two brothers. Robert Foster II, Ethel Marie Foster, Robert Foster III and Linwood Foster. Four years later, we moved to Chapel Oaks Maryland; where I attended, Fairmount Heights Elementary School. Later I graduated salutatorian from Fairmount Height School, class of 1953.

Entering the job market was not easy thing to achieve in “53”. I had several low paying jobs and I worked hard at it. A few years later I met and married Wilbur Canady from that union came three beautiful daughters, Cassandra, Cynthia and Cathaleen Canady. During the marriage I took some courses from George Washington University, of Washington D.C. I then became a Teacher’s Assistant and worked with children for 31 years in Prince Georges County School System.

I have been a member of Craig Memorial Community Church for over 60 years, I was the first child that participated in the youth choir and worked in the Sunday School, later as I grew older, in the senior choir, I was always interested in learning more about the Lord, I attended prayer meeting and bible study. At one of the prayer meetings I was filled with the Holy Spirit. I then became a Stewardess, which later was changed to Deaconess, then Deacon. While holding the position of Deacon, I received a call from the Lord to preach. I was a minister for 3 years. After 3 years of taking courses on the work of a preacher, at Spirit of Faith Christian Center I was ordained.

I am looking forward to being used by the Lord in whatever capacity, He desires to use me.
