Rev. Barbara Hines

Associate Minister/Minister to Women

Reverend Barbara Hines was born again on March 28, 1981 and baptized by the late Thomas G. Wright, Pastor of the Temple of Truth Community Baptist Church. As a member of TTCBC, she served as a choir member, missionary, outreach coordinator, financial secretary and assistant editor of the church newsletter.

During the fall of 1995, a new pastor was installed at the New United Baptist Church and the Lord assigned her to that ministry where she became a faithful member. Under the leadership of Pastor Darrin G. Freeman, Reverend Hines was the Share Coordinator, choir member, missionary and deaconess until the Lord called her to preach the Gospel on February 8, 2000.

Reverend Hines was licensed by Pastor Darin G. Freeman to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ on November 18, 2001. As an associate minister of NUBC, Reverend Hines was active in the women’s ministry, outreach ministry, retreat facilitating, youth mentoring, and assistant editor/ writer for the NUBC Newsletter.

Reverend Hines joined Craig Memorial Community Church in January 2003 and was ordained by Pastor Claude R. Swanson on November 18, 2007. As an associate minister of CMCC, she has served in the capacity of Sunday school Teacher, Young Adult Minister and Spiritual Advisor for the WCF as well Women’s Minister. She has a passion for preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her favorite scripture is Romans 10:17 so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing the word of God! Reverend Barbara Hines was born and educated in Washington, D.C. She has studied at Calvary Bible Institute and the University of District of Columbia. She was reared in a God fearing home and loves the Lord because he first loved her.

She is dedicated to being steadfast, unmovable and always abounding in the works of the Lord. For she believes that inasmuch as she labor, her labor is not in vain in the Lord!
